LocationPulse Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

LocationPulse (locationpulse.co.uk) is operated by Ollie and Forbes Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (River Court, 5 West Victoria Dock Road, Dundee, Scotland, DD1 3JT · Company number SC270410). This is a plain-language explanation of what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.

Questions about this policy? Email hello@locationpulse.co.uk

1. Who we are

Ollie and Forbes Ltd trades as LocationPulse, an independent, field-captured street-level property intelligence service covering Edinburgh. We’re the data controller for the personal data described below.

2. What we collect, and why

When you buy a brief. Purchasing a Postcode Brief or all-access pass, via WooCommerce and our payment processor Stripe, gives us your name, email, billing address, and order history. We never see or store your card details — that’s handled entirely by Stripe. We use this to deliver what you’ve bought and to meet our legal obligations (e.g. tax records).

When you contact us. If you email us or use an enquiry form, we get whatever you send us — usually name, email, and your message. We use it to reply.

Website usage. Our host (GoDaddy) logs standard technical data (IP address, browser, pages visited) for security and performance. We also run basic analytics (Google Analytics) to see roughly how the site is used — which pages get visited, how people find us — so we can improve it. This is aggregate, statistical data; we’re not using it to build profiles of individual visitors.

Fonts and maps. Pages load Google Fonts and OpenStreetMap map tiles from their own servers, which sends your IP address to Google and OpenStreetMap as a normal part of how those work. See Google’s privacy policy and OpenStreetMap’s.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

3. Street capture and photography

Briefs are built from independent, in-person field capture: a member of our team visits a street, takes measurements (noise, traffic, parking, upkeep), and takes one photo of the general street scene.

We deliberately frame every capture to exclude number plates and identifiable people — a standing rule at the point of capture, not an afterthought. That said, a public street is a public space, and we can’t fully guarantee no person, vehicle, or property incidentally appears in a photo. Capture photos exist to illustrate general street conditions, not to photograph any specific individual, vehicle, or resident.

4. Who we share data with

Only where genuinely necessary to run the service:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • WooCommerce / GoDaddy — our website host and store platform

We also use internal tools to manage field capture data and build briefs. These don’t touch any customer personal data — only street-level observations, measurements, and photos.

We may also disclose data where we believe it’s genuinely necessary — to comply with the law, respond to a legal request, protect our rights or someone’s safety, or deal with fraud or security issues. We’d expect this to be rare.

5. Links to other websites

Our site may link to other websites (mapping services, listings sites, etc.). This policy only covers locationpulse.co.uk — we’re not responsible for other sites’ privacy practices.

6. Cookies

Some cookies are strictly necessary — they run the shopping cart and checkout (via WooCommerce) and can’t be switched off without breaking the ability to buy a brief.

We also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand site usage in aggregate. You can opt out via your browser settings or a tool like Google Analytics Opt-out.

7. How long we keep data

  • Orders and payments: as long as UK tax law requires (currently 6 years).
  • Enquiries: until resolved, then deleted.
  • Field capture data: kept as part of our ongoing operational archive, since briefs may be regenerated or referenced later.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, or delete your data, object to or restrict how we use it, request a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. Email [hello@locationpulse.co.uk] to exercise any of these. You can also complain to the ICO if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data.

9. Changes to this policy

We’ll update this policy as the site and its features change (e.g. the planned all-access pass). The date at the top always reflects the latest version.
